Because of the friction of the granulated surface on asphalt shingles, it is not often that snow guards are needed.  However, if the roof has a history of damaged gutters, snow damaging landscaping or HVAC equipment or if you have pedestrian traffic below, it may be in the interest of "life-safety" to install Gough SnoGuards to help hold the snow in place.

The Plain Jane is actually a SGAR made of Kynar colored  aluminum and comes in whatever color we have in stock.  Therefore, they are a little less expensive.
